While Sketchup isn't as evolved as the aforementioned tools, it's far from a beginner's toy. It combines shocking levels of usability with even more shocking levels of functionality, and has, in fact, been designed so that even eigth-graders can design in it with no problems. Google has designed SketchUp primarily to help even ordinary people model buildings with varying complexity. These models can be uploaded to google warehouse and shared with everyone or you can make your model of your house and put it in Google Earth and let everyone see your creativity.
